Red Light Medicine – 21st Century Wellness Medicine

Red Light medicine is a new and emerging type of therapy that can be accomplished in many different ways.  Using light wavelengths of 650-1070nm you can lie in a red light bed for 20-30 minutes for whole body exposure, or use the Firefly laser technology for more localized red light effects, or use the Neuroradiant 1070 helmet.  The Neuroradiant helmet is very useful in Alzheimer and Parkinson disease, traumatic brain injury, stroke, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and ADHD.  Cerathrive is a red light headband and waistband that work together on the gut brain axis and help  restore function in people with leaky gut and leaky brain syndrome.  Lastly, Dr. Dennis Gross FaceWare Pro Masque LED is useful for facial antiaging and reduces wrinkles and fine lines.  All of these “gadgets” help to lower inflammation, increase energy, increase blood flow, repair damaged tissue, restore mitochondrial function, and decrease oxidative stress while increasing cellular function.

Please visit the Red Light Therapy Wellness Lounge and pick up a brochure to read about the different ways to administer therapeutic red light.  Aging can be significantly reduced by using red light therapies.

How does red light therapy work?

How Does Red Light Therapy (Photobiomodulation Work)

  • Increases ATP production by the mitochondria by activating Complex IV cytochrome C oxidase which converts light energy into ATP for usable cellular energy
  • Increases cellular energy
  • Stimulates electron transport chain activity
  • Increases nitric oxide release from hemoglobin
  • Increases vasodilation
  • Increases blood flow
  • Increases lymphatic drainage
  • Increases glymphatics (brain draining at night)
  • Improves collagen
  • Improves social interactions
  • Increases immune system energy
  • Decreases inflammation
  • Decreases proinflammatory cytokines
  • Decreases neuroinflammation
  • Increases tissue oxygenation
  • Increases reactive oxygen species (ROS)
  • Increases cell signaling
  • Increases cell survival
  • Increases brain volume
  • Improves neuropsychological condition
  • Increases production and release of growth factors
  • Stimulates tissue growth and repair
  • Stimulates new brain synapse connections
  • Activates stem cells
  • Stimulates neuroplasticity and neuroregeneration
  • Promotes better sleep
