Dr. Susan Marra with JuJu

Dr. Marra is 1999 graduate of Bastyr University and has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Psychology.  She practiced Naturopathic Tick Borne Illness medicine for 26 years in Connecticut, and Seattle, but decided she no longer wanted to engage in “sickness medicine.”  She is Board Certified in Anti-Aging Medicine as well as Metabolic Medicine, and has been certified in Peptides, Nutrigenomics, Brain Fitness, and ReCode (reversing cognitive decline).  Dr. Marra has always had an interest in Energy and Wellness Medicine, but her career path veered off into caring for very sick complex chronic illness patients for over 25 years.  In 2024, she won an award for her Service to the Lyme community from the Global Lyme Alliance, the premier nonprofit for tick borne illness research.

Now, Dr. Marra devotes more of her time and professional interest to the Red Light Therapy Wellness Lounge trying to promote wellness instead of trying to heal sickness, which is a huge energetic and healthy shift of focus.  She believes that red light therapies, vibrational therapy, thermal therapy, and ozone therapy,  are the wave of the future for wellness medicine. Dr. Marra wants to be at the forefront of delivering these therapies to people.  They are powerful energy based therapies that largely decrease inflammation and significantly increase mitochondrial and energy production in the cell.  For the aging population, this is preventive medicine at its finest.

Dr. Marra loves the outdoors and has traveled the globe.  She loves to learn and implement new strategies and technologies for healing and wellness.  Her cream french bulldog, Juliette Pearl (Juju), can be seen in the Wellness Lounge greeting people and exuding canine love, friendliness and joy.  Juju has her very own healing capacity and spreads true joy and well being everywhere she goes.  Please greet her with kindness and she will be your canine concierge.

Please visit us on Liberty Bay Marina, Suite 130, in Poulsbo, WA to give Juju a few belly rubs, and get some well being vibes from our modern Wellness Lounge.  Try an herbal wellness shot while you’re here for a quick pick me up.  This is a place of wellness so please LEAVE YOUR BAD VIBES AT HOME.

Dr. Marra’s Philosophy

In the last two decades, the United States, Canada, Australia, Europe, and other areas of the world, have experienced a rapid emergence of zoonotic diseases at an alarming rate. Multiple factors including global climate change, escalating deer and grey squirrel populations, human urban development encroachment on feral animal habitats, pollution, excessive EMF exposure, and the human misuse of energy and waste management, have given rise to the 21st-century global epidemic of Lyme disease, a perfect “storm.” Even the Centers for Disease Control suspects that there may be as much as 6-12 times the number of reported Borreliosis/Lyme disease cases in the United States that have not been recognized and/or diagnosed. This is a national (and global) tragedy given that scientific evidence repeatedly demonstrates that early antibiotic intervention for tick-borne illness halts disease progression and perhaps even eradicates it.

A 30-year career in medicine and science that emphasizes the need for 1) integrating science and intuition, 2) utilizing a combination of Eastern and Western medicine philosophy, as well as alternative and conventional treatment modalities, 3) interfacing with other disciplines that shed new insights on old problems, and 4) exhibiting compassion and mindfulness for the needs of others.

The following are principles of healing, treatment, and conduct that Dr. Marra and her staff strive for in delivering healthcare to patients:

“Mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health are the essential components of well being, which are constantly challenged in the modern world.  Nature is the only healer that likely touches all of those human aspects, and comforts during times of distress and illness.” SLM
